Nice to know a blogger like yourself can't read all the things all the time. I totally hear ya! I want to read so many, Cadfael, Penman's Welsh princes, etc. there are just too many and that's okay. There was a time, I think before blogging, where I read every single book about Australia I could get my hands on. Fiction, nonfiction, travel guides....I wish I had recorded my reviews.
But that's not the topic here!! I just saw a series you mentioned that I'd probably like (Daughters of the Outback series).

I ran out of steam on the Gabaldon books. I too would purchase her latest as soon as it came out and that last one, ugh. She rehashed so much material in the last book I would have felt ripped off if I'd parted with money.Tinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08553212447308502910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-20410704648792704712022-08-25T18:23:42.240+10:002022-08-25T18:23:42.240+10:00I ran out of steam with the Phryne Fisher books. I got bored by the Precious books midway through the first one! Like Margaret, I felt that Maisie Dobbs became too formulaic, also I went to hear the author speak and I found her very condescending. However, sometimes there are series that I forget about. I really like Linda Castillo's mysteries but forgot about them for 4-5 year. It was nice to catch up when I remembered!CLMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03595294217111602231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-16302278399852882542022-08-24T04:36:31.656+10:002022-08-24T04:36:31.656+10:00I've definitely stalled reading series without...I've definitely stalled reading series without meaning too: I started the Arc of a Scythe series by Neal Shusterman years ago, it's five years later and I still haven't read the second book. I fully intend to, I just haven't got around to it. I also stalled on Laini Taylor's Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy after the second book because I found it disappointing.
My TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2022/08/23/top-ten-tuesday-382/iloveheartlandXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10040647634981408350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-29619157806804583692022-08-24T02:57:00.814+10:002022-08-24T02:57:00.814+10:00The title of your post made me laugh because I SOO...The title of your post made me laugh because I SOOOO relate. There are tons of series that I'm stuck in the middle of and just haven't kept going for no particular reason. The Amelia Peabody series is one (although I've been re-reading it on audio lately). OUTLANDER is another. I enjoyed the first book and just never picked up the next one. Now it's been too long and I would have to re-read OUTLANDER in order to continue so...yeah. I totally get this phenomenon :)

Happy TTT!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05344704891037668456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-90657518463140523612022-08-24T01:29:37.923+10:002022-08-24T01:29:37.923+10:00Yes, I have done this with series, too. There are multiple series where I've read 2 of the 3 and just can't find the interest to finish it. Like you said, other books just keep moving in front! One that I consciously quit reading is the Reacher series by Lee Child - talk about formulaic! I was ready for something new. Great post.
Terrie @ Bookshelf Journeys
https://www.bookshelfjourneys.com/post/ttt-series-i-want-to-finishTerriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11989512064950173723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-88399693343629056442022-08-23T22:29:33.709+10:002022-08-23T22:29:33.709+10:00Sometimes I do stop reading a series without meani...Sometimes I do stop reading a series without meaning to, purely because with so many other books to read I just forget about them - sad, I know. But doing posts like this reminds me of them. But there are series I have deliberately decided to stop - the Maisie Dobbs books by Jacqueline Winspear for example, as I found them becoming formulaic - just my opinion, other people love them.Margaret @ BooksPleasehttps://booksplease.org/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18884029.post-40926860301112213752022-08-23T21:46:57.464+10:002022-08-23T21:46:57.464+10:00Good for you for knowing your limits!
