What's on Your Nightstand and some blog pimping!

Something moved off of the nightstand since the last time I did this meme. Actually two things moved!

Still on the nightstand are:

The Traitor's Wife by Susan Higginbotham
Archangel by Sharon Shinn
Mistletoe Kisses anthology
The Smoke Thief by Shana Abe
Dagger-Star by Elizabeth Vaughan
Visions of Heat by Nalini Singh
Just One of the Guys by Kristin Higgins

So the books that moved were Rises the Night by Colleen Gleason and Personal Demon by Kelley Armstrong.

There would also be Fear the Darkness by Sherrilyn Kenyon except I was just reading it, so it's not there!

Now for some pimpage.

Stuff I Read is a new blog that features a lot of historical fiction and some non fiction as well. If you are looking for more bloke-ish historical fiction then this could be a good resource (not that girls can't read these types of books too - I am reading a Flashman book at the moment - but you know what I mean I am sure!)

Another new blogger is Heather who has just started her blog at The Readers Word. Drop by and say Hi!

My final act of pimpage for today at least, is to mention a new challenge. Kerrie from Mysteries in Paradise is hosting her first challenge called the Agatha Christie Reading Challenge. The idea is to read all of the works by the great mystery author! For full details check out Kerrie's blog here.

  2. Now what would it take to induce you to read Susan's book (Traitor's Wife) next? ;) I'd love to hear your take on it!

  3. Michele, it shouldn't take much to induce me to read it because I REALLY want to. It's just a case of fitting it in between library books!

Carolyn Jean, I haven't read any Sharon Shinn yet, but I have heard such good things about all of them!

  4. Thanks for the link Marg. I'm not sure whether I should attempt to put a Mr Linky in or similar. Do I need something other than comments to keep track of fellow journeyers in the challenge?

  5. The Higginbotham book is not QUITE on the nightstand, but it's getting closer. I go through phases with books -- am on a mystery phase at the moment, but am highly anticipating a phase of historical fiction. I am eagerly awaiting the publication of a book of historical fiction on the Civil War, Bedlam South. We all know the incredible suffering that war brought to our land. In this book, the characters battle their own demons, as well as the enemy. an insane asylum is a major setting, which has got to be where the name came from (in my own opinion). I'm expecting the Civil War to come alive with this book, and as I'm a big Civil War buff, I'm pretty stoked.

  6. I still haven't read Personal Demon! As much as I love this series too. I recently read (and loved) my second Agatha Christie novel. I think I might join in on this one!

  8. I just discovered another book for my ever growing Amazon wish list. The minute I saw title 'The Traitor's Wife' it sounded like my kind of book.
