Teaser Tuesday: An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon

Diana Gabaldon is one of my all time favourite authors, and if everything goes to plan, tomorrow I am going to be sharing about my experiences with her Outlander series of books. First though, a teaser from An Echo in the Bone, the latest instalment in the series.

The teaser comes from page 384:

His eyes traveled over William's torn, disheveled clothes, his scratched , sweating face, and his mud-caked boots. "Ye look a bit better than the last time I saw ye - but not much."
Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading. Head on over to find out all about it, and how to join in!

  1. I love the bookcover (the colors so beautiful) of ECHO. That reminded me though, I still have not finish reading ABOSAA yet. I have a long way to go before I'm able to read ECHO, which I already have copy of :) I love the Outlander series!

    Happy reading ECHO!

  2. I wonder how he looked before! Here is my teaser for this week.

  3. Dare I say it? I have never read any of Diana Gabaldon's books... I really look forward to your thoughts about the famous Outlander series!

  4. Ha ha! Makes you wonder how bad he looked before!! Great Teaser! Mine is at:
    The Delusional Diaries

  5. I was wondering the same thing but realized I have the series sitting unread on my bookshelves so I'm going to pull them out to see :) Great teaser.

  6. BookishSnob, start the series. I think you will really like it!

LMW and Beth, I think I remember the last time that they saw each other, and it really wasn't pretty!

Danielle, come back tomorrow to see just how much I love them!

Julia, I buy these books the day they come out. Some times it just takes me a while to read them.

  7. oh man.. i really wants to know what's that all about

  11. This is a series I've heard nothing but great things about! Great teaser!

  12. I come across her books quite often while working - because her books take up a LOT of space!! I've never read her though but I might give her a go some time although I'm slightly adverse to fantasy.

  13. I am soooo behind in this series. I have them all, just haven't gotten to a couple of them. Oops...

    The Search

  14. Great teaser! I can't wait to read this one!

Mine is here, if you want to take a look: http://abookblogofonesown.blogspot.com/2010/09/teaser-tuesday-1492010.html

  19. Good one! I loved how she threw William and Ian together. We'll have to talk about this one when you finish it!

  20. I'd never heard of the Outlander series, but your teaser and that cover made me immediatly go to Amazon and look it up. Very interesting.

My teaser can be found here: http://readingisdreamy.blogspot.com/2010/09/teaser-tuesday-guardians-of-gahoole.html

  21. Wonderful books - I still remember how much I loved Cross Stitch. Haven't read the last couple though.

  22. I am a total HOSER! (If you have ever visited the Ladies of Lallybroch site, you'll know it's someone obsessed with the Outlander series!) I have read thru the series twice and about to start my third run through. I'll be curious what you think of Echo!

    Here's mine

  23. Lisa, I am a hoser from way back, although to be fair I mainly hang out on the Reader's Rec board these days.

Cat, I recently reread Cross Stitch and it hadn't lost it's magic for me.

smellincoffee, it definitely wasn't good before if my memory serves me correctly.

Sablelexi, I hope you will give them a go. Start with the first book, Outlander.

LadyQ, I would love to chat about this one when I finish. I often feel like I am bursting with the need to discuss further when I do finish one of her books.

Elysium and Heather, this book has been sitting on my bookshelf for the best part of a year so it is nice to finally be reading it.

Mae, I wouldn't necessarily call them fantasy novels. Yes, there is timetravel, but it really is the mechanism to get to the historical elements of the novel. If I HAD to label them I would probably call them Historical Fiction with very strong romantic elements, and a twist of time travel. Having said all that, I am not sure that they are your type of book!

    Thanks everyone for stopping by.
