Library Loot: March 2 to 8

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

Claire has the Mr Linky this week, so once you have checked out my loot, head over there to share your Library Loot link.

Here's my loot for this week:

The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson - again. Dorothy Koomson has just released a new book, which reminded me that I still haven't read this one, despite borrowing it a few times! Must rectify this!

Faithful Place by Tana French - another reloot. Carrie from Books and Movies is hosting a readalong of this book as part of the Ireland Reading Challenge so I thought I should probably reborrow the book to try and participate.

Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris - yet another reloot! Recently it was suggested that there are only another couple of books to come in this series, so I should make an effort not to get too far behind.

Acheron by Sherrilyn Kenyon - not reloot! Hah, bet you thought it was going to be! This is the next book in the Dark Hunter series. I remember the excitement when the book first came out, but it has taken me this long to catch up to that point in the series.

Need You Now by Lady Antebellum -My plan for April is to go and see Keith Urban in concert, although that is looking a bit less likely to happen due to unexpected expenses. Ever the optimist though I thought I should acquaint myself with Lady Antebellum's music as they are the support act. Here is American Honey.

  1. Oh, I hope you are liking the Tana French series! It's one I am rather excited about!

  2. I love Charlaine Harris, but I have to admit that the Sookie books are getting a bit over-complicated. A couple seemed a bit top-heavy -- too much explaining for the plots. Lately she's cleared up a lot so I'm looking forward to the next few.

Her other books are also entertaining; I like her librarian detective series.

  3. Nice loot! I read "My Best Friend's Girl" by Dorothy Koomson and really enjoyed it, and although I have "The Chocolate Run" on my bookshelf I haven't picked it up! Thanks for reminding me - I'm off to the library for the first time in years tomorrow (see my blogpost today!!) so will head straight for the "K"s :)

  4. I've never read Acheron & she's a hit and miss author for me. I bought a copy but traded it unread. It was just too big & I was afraid she couldn't carry a coherent story through all those pages. Will you review Acheron when you're finished with it?

  7. I love the first 2 Tana French books but I admit, I was a bit disappointed in Faithful Place. Hopefully you enjoy it more than I did.

I enjoyed Dead in the Family, although some didn't. It was a rebuilding book and I'm pretty excited for the story arc that's coming next.

  10. I'm going to see Keith in July. (Can't wait! For the warm weather *and* the concert.:) Never seen Lady A live, but would love to; their music is wonderful. Hope you get to go!!

  11. Chelle, I really hope I get to go. I have to pay for a new fence first before I can buy tickets to the concert.

boros1124, I have enjoyed the other books I have read by her, so I think I will like this one.

Carrie, Zibilee and Cat, I expect to enjoy it too.

1girl2manybooks and Beth, it will be interesting to see how Harris wraps the series up. I have read the Harper Connelly books, but not the other series she has written

Jenny Girl, I am a little bit country, a little bit rock n roll.

Kailana, I am sure I will enjoy at least some of them.

Bookwormom, I have been disappointed in the last few books in the series, but I hope this one is good. As for reviewing, I don't tend to write a lot of reviews at the moment. Being very slack I am afraid, so no promises

Book Gatherer, My Best Friend's Girl is the first Koomson that I read, and still my favourite.

Linda, I have been listening to them since I got the CD and I really like them too.
