Library Loot: September 28 to October 4

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

Mr Linky is over at Claire's blog this week, so head on over to her blog to share your link to your Library Loot post. Here's my loot:

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater - I borrowed this (again) because I am thinking about joining in with a local book club that focuses on romance and urban fantasy. I meet up with some of the members regularly so it would be fun to start discussing particular books with them. I just have to get it read by Friday!

After the Abduction by Sabrina Jeffries - While I wait for the next new book by Sabrina Jeffries I am working my way through her back list!

Affinity by Sarah Waters - Kelly and I were looking for a book to do a joint review of and we agreed on this one! Now I just need to agree when it needs to be read by.

Ready Player One by Ernst Cline - I don't actually remember why I requested this one. Must have heard some buzz about it somewhere!

Serendipity by Carly Phillips - a new to me contemporary romance author!

The Dresden Files - As a result of the Storm Front readalong that I am participating in I decided that it would be fun to watch the TV series that was adapted from the book! So far, I have only watched one episode so it is a bit early to pass judgment just yet!

  6. Bree posted a positive review of Ready Player One on All the Books I Can Read - could that be it? I've been debating getting that one myself because of her review :)

I have lots of Sarah Waters books to catch up on - LOVED Fingersmith - but I don't have Affinity

  7. Great mix of books in your loot --as always.

Oh lucky you to read Shiver now... when Linger and Forever are already out. You're going to want to read the next books asap. Not that I've read Forever yet, myself but I was dying to after finishing Linger.

  9. I want to read Shiver. I think I'll enjoy that series. I'm on the fence about Ready Player One. Perhaps your review will push me to get it. Enjoy your loot!

  10. I really loved Ready Player One, it's so fun in a very nerdy, clever sort of way. Even though I had very little idea of what they were on about half the time, the story was so good and so well written that it didn't matter.

  11. I read Affinity earlier this year and really enjoyed it so I'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it when you finish. Enjoy all of these!

  12. I loved Shiver, so evocative.

Linger to a lesser degree, but Shiver is on my keeper shelf.

  15. Claire, I have been meaning to read Sarah Waters for the longest time! This will be the time that it happens.

Jenny Girl, I have only watched the first episode so far. I am hoping to get to watch more over the weekend.

Nicola, I started it this morning and like it so far.

Samantha and Cat, I have high hopes for Affinity.

Bree, maybe it was your review that made me want it. I can't remember.

Linda, I am not really 100% sure what I am expecting from Ready Player One.

Christine, it is a bonus to not have to wait for the next book in the series.

Shannon, I am meant to read Fingersmith at some point this year.

Zibilee, I have heard lots of good things about it too!

Julie, if by shortly you mean some time in the next few weeks and you want to do a joint review or something, let me know.

Kailana, will do. Maybe in a couple of week's time?

    celawerdblog, I hope so!

Bookworm Rebel - Susanna Kearsley, or maybe try Marisa de los Santos!
