Oh good....more commuting time!

At work today they announced that we are all moving buildings - only 10 minutes further out from the city than we are already.

For me, this means that on a day when all the connections work it is going to take me an hour and twenty minutes on the train each way. Note that this doesn't count the time it takes to drop off or pick up my son or driving to the train station.

On a day when all the connections don't work, it is going to take me nearly an hour and three quarters.

It does mean more reading time again.....but I am not sure if it what I really, really want!

  1. Oh, Marg! That sucks! It doesn't take as much time for me, but I can understand. But at least, more time to read and to sleep :) but yeah, you can only tough it up...

  2. It used to take me about 40 minutes which I thought was bad enough. I actually have turned down jobs in nice places (Florida and Washington DC) because in order to afford a house I would have to live an hour and a half away!

Now I work from home, so my commute time is much more bearable!

  3. An hour & 20 minutes one way is long, even by W. DC standards. Hubby's commute is 50 minutes- so maybe you're not off by too much after all. :(

  5. That stinks. I've been so lucky, with the short commute, but just focus on the more reading bit.
