Preservatives

This week's Booking Through Thursday question:

Today’s question comes from Conspiracy-Girl:
I’m still relatively new to this meme so I’m not sure if this has been asked yet, but I’m curious how many of us write notes in our books. Are you a Footprint Leaver or a Preservationist?

Definitely, definitely a Preservationist! Maybe part of the reason is that I read so many library books, but I don't write in any books! At least not since I was in high school!

  2. I once lent my hubby a book (before we were married, I think). He returned it with notes on the margins (in ink!), dogeared pages and a spine that had obviously been made to bend backward. I was completely POed, and he couldn't understand why. Her reckons the fact that it was marked like that meant that it was loved and used well. I gave him the book.

  3. I know there are lots of people who love to write thoughts and notes in margins of favorite books, but I just couldn't bear to do something like that. I can't remember where it originates in my youth, but I've been that way forever.

  4. It would be bad to leave footprints in a library book. :-) I have mixed feelings about footprints in the first place, but if it's a loaner, I'm very much opposed to it.

  5. I write in my non-fiction or textbooks... notes to help me remember pertinent information. But fiction?? NO. Never.

    Happy BTT!

  6. Kat, I would have freaked! My future Sister-in-Law just returned Duncan's Bride by Linda Howard (the original!) with no cover. SHE TORE THE COVER OFF! Then she gave it to her mom to read! WTF? I was so angry at the both of them. I don't think I'll be loaning either of them my books again.

  7. How can you tear the cover off of someone else's book! I would freak out at that!
