2008 Man Booker Prize for Fiction longlist

The long list for the Man Booker prize has been announced, and once again I haven't read any of them. I've added them to be TBR list though!

The shortlist is announced on 9 September with the winner announced on 14 October.

  1. Interesting to see Child44 make yet another appearance on a list. Seems to be popping up fairly often at the moment.

  2. I haven't read any either. In fact, I hadn't heard of most. But that's what I like about these prizes. They bring books I might not otherwise hear of to my attention.

  3. I was excited to see the Steve Toltz book on there. It's a huge honor for a first-time author!

  4. I've actually read one of the books--not surprising it is the thriller! I was surprised to see it there, but I enjoyed it immensely. There are several I've added to my library list, though not all are yet available in the US.
