Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Should be Reading:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

This week's teaser is from page 431 of The Time of Singing by Elizabeth Chadwick - so good!

She searched his face. "Is it what you want?"

I have about five pages to go before I finish this book, but I have totally enjoyed reading it, to the point where I was disappointed yesterday when I got on the train and there were people on there that I knew. I knew that I would have to chat with them for at least a little while before I could dive back into my book.

  1. I totally need to stay away from your blog. Now I want this book, too.

  2. My husband knows not to bother me when I am that close to the end!

People always want to talk when you're at a good point in a novel. Drives me crazy!

  3. I'm looking forward to your review of this book - I haven't read any Chadwick before but I'm always on the lookout for a good historical fiction author.

  4. I'm another one who, incredibly, hasn't read any Chadwick yet. Guess I'd better get on it....she seems to have a following that rivals or exceeds Penman's!

  5. I love Elizabeth Chadwick's books, so I'm waiting for this one to come out in the US. I'm glad to hear that it's good!

  6. Ladytink, I really, really enjoyed it!

Katherine, I know that there has been a deal to rerelease some of of EC's books in the US next year, but I am not sure that this is one of them.

Michele, Jenster and Iliana, I'm afraid I have become something of an EC fan girl, so expect to hear more about her here and at Historical Tapestry. Hope you get a chance to read her soon yourself!

Amy, unfortunately I had to stop at that point because the train got to the station! I finished it last night though, so it's all good now.

  7. I love the teaser idea of randomly opening the book and sharing something. And I agree, nothing worse than having to put it down to make meaningless chit chat!
