Would you try this?

I have a number of blogs on my reader that are just there because I like to look at the pictures.

A few months ago, I started reading Cake Wrecks, because it amuses me no end, which led me to another blog called Cupcakes That Take the Cake. Normally I just look at the gorgeous creations, but I must confess that I am not tempted at all by the post for today.

Would you try a Chocolate Cupcake with Bacon Cream Cheese Filling?

  1. I'm with Krissi. That sounds nasty.

  2. Bacon and chocolate together don't thrill me. But there is definitely a market for it -- Vosges Chocolate does a bacon-chocolate bar that is pretty popular. Very popular, IMO, given that it retails at $6.95/bar.

  3. Well I guess I am one of those who would indeed try it and very likely love it. I love salty and sweet together-the idea definitely appeals to me.

Bacon is all the rage now...apparently.

  5. I love sweet and savoury together, so yeah, I probably would (not because of the bacon but because of the cream cheese). For context, I used to munch on jelly snakes dipped in Nutella during uni lectures. Now and again, I'll eat store-bought sponge cake with French onion dip. :-)

  6. I, too, read Cake Wrecks, and I, too, would NOT try that. Ugh. I've lost my appetite.

  7. Love Cake Wrecks but haven't heard of the other! I'll have to check out the latter but not that cupcake- gag!

I also like pics so I subscribe to Pop Watch, LOL Cats, LOL Dogs, & LOL Celebs.

  8. I would probably try bacon and chocolate because I am always surprised by how two seemingly unalike things can go together well. I cant see it in this case, but I would still definitely try it.

  10. Wow, even you meat eaters are turned off by this. How do you think us vegans feel. Marg, the face on that boy says it all!

  11. Nope, yuck, wouldn't try that ;-) Meat doesn't belong in cakes. LOL.

  12. LOL, I am subscribed to both of those blogs and that picture is probably what my face looked like after I saw that blog.

    Pukey.

  13. I saw that post! I tweeted it & sent the link to my sister (a huge bacon fan), but I think even she would scrunch up her nose at them.

  14. Yum, yum, bacon, bacon, bacon, bring on the bacon!!

Sounds like something dreamed up by a person with clogged arteries in their future. I actually really don't like bacon especially, even when not paired with cupcakes

  15. Yes... cakes! You know, I'm a big fan of cake, as a universal concept? Can you imagine my disappointment, then, when I discovered that Pontefract cakes weren't cakes, at all? I felt cheated, I'll tell you!

Anyway, congrats on winning A Hoy.
