Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read

  • Open to a random page

  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  • I've read a number of YA books over the last few weeks, and my teaser today comes from another one. I am currently reading The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and I am really enjoying it. My teaser comes from page 178:

Then I hear the legendary announcer, Claudius Templesmith, as his voice booms all around me.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let the Seventy-fourth Hunger Games begin!"

I did have one problem today in relation to books. I finished The Queen of Attolia by Megan Whalen Turner (also a YA novel) and I was all very excited to request the next book from the library but they don't have it yet! Oh my goodness, what is a girl to do!

    1. Seems like a popular book in the book blog world.

It is on my wish list.

    2. The wait will be worth it! King of Attolia was my favorite in the series.

    3. I want to read this book so bad, but everytime I go to check it out of my library it's checked out :(

    4. I'm reading a YA book, as well. (Actually, 2 -- as I'm once again re-reading the Betsy/Tacy/Tib books, which I dearly love). The new YA book is Rumor & Qix, set a 100 years in the future and with an environmental theme. Very fun, very imaginative and kind of whimsical

      From page. 73:

"The sudden appearance of an oak grove had not gone unnoticed on Mirra, of course."

      “According to the latest
reports, a massive search is underway, but none of the missing
have been found yet and none of their families have heard from
      them. It’s all very mysterious.”

    6. When I first heard of this book, the premise made me sick and I vowed never to read it. But after INTENSE pressure from my blog friends and GoodReads friends, I've decided to get it from the library. I'm number 15 in line to get the book, and I hope that will give me time to get over myself enough to read it :)

Great teaser! You can check out mine here.

Bonnie, so glad you decided to join in!

Alice, I really, really enjoyed it!

Amy, my work here is done! LOL!

Susan, I wasn't thrilled with the premise before I read it, but I am so glad I did.

Heather, I loved it! I don;t often reread but I am thinking about buying both this book and the follow up so that I have them here on my shelf.

Liz, I had never heard of Rumor & Qix. Thanks for the teaser.

Jess, can you put a hold request on it at your library??

Strlady, sometimes I get a little impatient! This is one of those times!

Gautami, it is popular for good reason!
