Library Loot: May 12 to 18

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and myself that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

I don't know what everyone else, but I have something of a system when it comes to keeping track of the books I have out and when they are due back at the library, as well as the books that I have taken back unread, and those that I want to get to eventually, and normally that system works pretty well. Let's just say that I would be lost without my excel spreadsheets!

This week however something went wrong with my almost foolproof system. I checked my list to see which books I wanted to request this time and then went to the library catalogue and requested them. In due course I got the notification to say that they were waiting to be picked up, and off I went.

It was only once got home again as was adding them to my Due Date list that I realised that I actually had not one but two of those books already out. Apparently I wanted to read them so badly that I borrowed them twice!

Here are the books that I borrowed this week:

The Shadow Queen by Anne Bishop - This is the first of the two duplicate requests. I ended up taking the other one back to the library because this one was newer and just felt nicer - yes, I am shallow!

At Last Comes Love by Mary Balogh - The second duplicate.

Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong - Reloot. I love this series, and I am determined that this time I will actually managed to read it!

The Lost Art of Gratitude by Alexander McCall Smith - I think this is reloot. It's the next Isabel Dalhousie mystery.

The Double Comfort Safari Club by Alexander McCall Smith - And this is the next No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency novel.

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld - I have been meaning to try Scott Westerfeld for the longest time, but I wasn't sure where exactly to start, so I thought that I would start with this book and see if he works for me.

What did you pick up from the library this week? Leave your link in Mr Linky so we can all come and have a look at your loot!

  8. My friend Susan does this blog. We both live in Korea and she is lucky enough to work at a uni with an English language section of the library. I am not so lucky in my area. :) I really, really miss libraries.

  17. I'd love to read Scott Westerfeld's books someday too. First, I'll need to cut down on my TBR! :) And when I start, I'll probably go for Uglies first.
