Library Loot: April 13 to 19

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

After quite a few weeks of only getting two or three books out of the library, this week there are quite a few more!

The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party by Alexander McCall Smith - The next book in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.

To the Moon and Back by Jill Mansell - I enjoy reading Jill Mansell's books, so I am going to try and read those books of hers I haven't read yet.

Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch - I first heard of this over at BookSmugglers and have been waiting for it to come into the library every since.

Meet Grace by Sofia Laguna - this is the first in a series of historical novels for children, set in the early days of Australia. In all there are four girls to meet, and then each girl is going to get more than one story.

Angelique in Love by Sergeanne Golon - the next book in the Angelique series.

Emily by Cynthia Harrod-Eagles- the third and final book in the Kirov saga set in Russia.

Zombies vs Unicorns anthology - Oh dear. I seem to have become addicted to short story collections! There's a couple of Aussies in this one, so I have borrowed it in the hope of reading their stories this month for Aussie Author Month.

The Novel in the Viola by Natasha Solomons - I loved Mr Rosenblum's List when I read it last year, and have been anticipating this book ever since I read it!

Claire is hosting the Mr Linky this week, so head on over and share your loot!

  1. Nice loot! I didn't know there was a new book in the Ladies Detective series and also hadn't heard of the Natasha Solomon book.

I haven't read all of the Ladies Detect. series but didn't realise new books were still coming out.

Happy reading with these great books.

  4. I have been reading a lot of short story collections lately, too. Very strange for me! I figured while I am interested I should keep on reading them, though. :)

  5. I find the idea of Zombies vs Unicorns delightfully odd and I'm so jealous that you've already got The Novel in the Viola! Enjoy!

  6. What a collection! McCall SMith's books are always so much fun - I have a collection sitting here on my bookshelf that I need to read! And you can't go wrong with a Jill Mansell. I've just finished reading three of hers that I need to upload reviews on - she's great!

  8. I loved Zombies vs. Unicorns! There are some great stories in there. Going in I was team Zombie, but after reading I think I might be team Unicorn!

Also, the trash talking of the editors prior to each story is hilarious.

  12. Hey Marg.
It's been too long since I've posted library loot OR visited everyone else's loot posts. I hadn't realized how much I missed checking out what everyone's borrowing.

My library has Zombies v. Unicorns, too, but I haven't had the chance to borrow it yet. It's on my list, though!

    Enjoy. :)
