Teaser Tuesday: City of Promise by Beverly Swerling

My teaser this week comes from City of Promise by Beverly Swerling, the fourth book in the City series which follows the history of New York from the very early days when it was still a Dutch colony through to the years after the end of the Civil War. You can find out more about the earlier books in the series by clicking on this link.

The teaser comes from page 158:

Read THE TIMES on Wednesday.

Five words. In block letters written in black ink. On a sheet of tissue-thin paper without any identification. It was nothing. But it was all she had.

Please note that this teaser comes from an ARC version and so may be different in the final version.

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading. Head on over to find out all about it, and how to join in!
