Library Loot: February 22 to 28

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

Love and the Platypus by Nicholas Drayson - A couple of years ago I read and thoroughly enjoyed A Guide to the Birds of East Africa. Recently Nicholas Drayson left a comment saying that there is going to be a sequel to that book released later this year. I went straight to the library catalogue to see if it is pre-ordered. It isn't but I did see this earlier book by Drayson so borrowed this one.

Farewell to Lancashire by Anna Jacobs - This is historical saga set in my home town of Perth, which I can't remember reading before. This book will also count for a couple of challenges I am doing this year.

Fool Moon by Jim Butcher - Last year when I read the first book in the Dresden Files series I intended to read the sequel soon after. Hasn't quite worked out that way!

Some Like it Hot by Louisa Edwards - The next book in the Rising Star Chef series

Sea Hearts by Margo Lanagan - This will be my first read of a Lanagan novel. I have read a number of her short story collections and really enjoyed them.

Share your loot by adding your link to Mr Linky below!

  5. If you don't get to Fool Moon yet again Carl was talking about having another group read for Once Upon a Time. At least he was a couple months ago, but that could have changed.

  7. That platypus sure is cute. As for that rising star chef in the Edwards book...

I've been contemplating starting the Dresden Files series for some time now. Maybe two years? I should give the first book a try one of these days. I take it you liked the first?

  10. Found you through Erika (thanks, Erika). What a fabulous idea!

There are some interesting books here, book titles have been written on the Wish List! I agree with some of the comments about the Sea Hearts cover - a little creepy, but intriguing. Off to find out more about the book :)

  12. My son is chowing his way through the Harry Dresden books after he caught part of #12 on the car audio. He is hard to distract; I won't be surprised if he makes it through Ghost before coming up for air.
