Library Loot: May 16 to 22

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera - This is the next choice of my face to face book clubs.

The Winding Ways Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini - I have stalled on this series for a couple of years now. I want to read one of the later books in the series but I don't like reading out of order so I need to get back to it.

Fool Moon by Jim Butcher - Reloot! I reread the first book in the series last year. Need to read this one so I can move forward in the series.

Clara and Mr Tiffany by Susan Vreeland - All of a sudden I realised that if I was going to read this book in time for the blog tour date then I needed to actually borrow it! I have reviewed the book here.

The Limpopo Academy of Private Detection by Alexander McCall Smith - The next book in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.

Sea Hearts by Margo Lanagan - Another reloot! Darn those other patrons who request books before I can read them!

Saved by Cake by Marian Keyes - During a #spbkchat session a few weeks ago someone mentioned that Marian Keyes had a new book coming out and it was about cake! Couldn't resist!

The Gods of Gotham by Lyndsay Faye - More reloot. See comment above about Sea Hearts.

  1. Love the word "reloot". No idea Marian Keyes had a new book out. I have read all of her books. I have kind of outgrown her more so now than when younger but must say Keyes re: cake? Sounds like fun.

  2. Pam, that was pretty much my reaction as well so I requested it straight away!

  3. Is the Keyes a non-fiction? Her being on the cover makes me wonder, though either way it's no doubt hilarious *needs to read more Marian Keyes books*.

    1. Yes it is non fiction. As I understand it the book is talking about how making cakes helped her when she was suffering from depression.

  7. I have always wanted to read The Unbearable Lightness of Being, but felt it was to smart for me. I hope to hear about your experiences with it. I also think you will love The Gods of Gotham. It's a totally incredible read!

    1. I suspect that Unbearable Lightness of Being might be too smart for me too, but we will see. Hopefully a good bookclub discussion will help out.

  8. Rob loves The Unbearable Lightness of Being. It's one of the books he's been bugging me to read, so it's stuffed in my TBR pile somewhere.

I didn't even know there was a new #1 Ladies Detective book... I still haven't even read The Big Saturday Wedding Tent Party, or whatever the last one was called.

I love the cover for Sea Hearts. I might have to buy it rather than read it from the library.

    1. I am not that keen on the cover for Sea Hearts. I think I prefer the Brides of Rollrock Islands (which you can see here
