Library Loot: August 1 to 6

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire from The Captive Reader and Marg from The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!
My moratorium on requesting any new books from the library unless they are part of a series I am already reading seems to have gone a bit by the wayside this week. I have requested quite a few books on impulse! Now I need to get cracking and actually read some of these books!

Claire has Mr Linky this week, so head over and share you loot. Here's my loot for this week:

Cracking the Dating Code by Kelly Hunter - I was contemplating the authors that I have discovered who write really good books for Harlequin when suddenly I realised that Kelly Hunter had a couple of books out that I have missed!

A Secret Affair by Mary Balogh - I recently read The Proposal by Mary Balogh which is the start of a new series. Then I realised that I haven't actually read the last book in her previous series.

Sydney Harbour Hospital: Tom's Redemption by Fiona Lowe - I don't normally read the Medical line of Harlequin releases but I recently read and thoroughly enjoyed Fiona Lowe's Boomerang Bride and I thoroughly enjoyed it so going to give one of her category romances a change.

How to Bake a Perfect Life by Barbara O'Neal - A couple of my favourite reads of last year were nominated in the Strong Romantic Elements category of the recent Rita awards. This book beat them both, and the author has one that particular category a few times so I thought maybe I should give her a go.

Fables 4 by Bill Willingham - Next book in the Fables series.

Flawless by Carrie Lofty - One of Carrie Lofty's books was the first book I ever read on my ereader and I really enjoyed it. I hadn't gotten around to buying this book, which is the first in a new series.

Manu's French Kitchen by Manu Feildel - Last Saturday I reviewed Manu's second book and this was his first book.

  1. Looking forward to seeing what you think about the Carrie Lofty book. I haven't read anything of hers, so don't know what her HRs are like.

  2. How to Bake a Perfect Life caught my eye. A light romance I'd like to read.

  6. Part of why I love your library loot posts, Marg, is because they always introduce me to romance novels I would never otherwise have come across. How to Bake a Perfect Life sounds intriguing and I'll keep an eye out for Kelly Hunter's books. Hope you like A Secret Proposal - it's not my favourite of the Huxtable books (I love the first three, focusing on the Huxtable sisters) but I still enjoyed it.
