Historical Fiction Reading Challenge - August

Thank you to everyone who shared a review this month! We had more than 50 reviews in July which is awesome! I can't wait to see what you all share in August. I have been around to visit quite a few of you this month and I have to say there are so many interesting historical fiction reads being reviewed! Keep it  up.

If you haven't already signed up, it's not too late! The sign up post is here.

Just to recap what participants need to know. At the beginning of each month I will put up a post which will have a Mr Linky embedded into it for you to add your link.

Please remember...

  • add the link(s) of your review(s) including your name and book title to the Mister Linky we’ll be adding to our monthly post (please, do not add your blog link, but the correct address that will guide us directly to your review). A direct link to your Goodreads review is also acceptable
  • any kind of historical fiction is accepted (fantasy, young adult, graphic novels...)
  • if you have time, have a look some of the other links that are present. You never know when you will discover new blogs or books!
I have created a group on Facebook which you can find here and don't forget to use the #histficreadingchallenge hashtag on the socials.

Here is the link for you to use to share your reviews this month! Happy reading!

  1. I saw your comment that you had bought an air fryer. We are loving it. We had a deep fryer (yuck so much oil) and a grill (mainly used for steak). We have gotten rid of both of them. Grill cheese, bacon, steak etc everything is going in the fryer. The chips/fries are incredible.

    2. My daughter (who lives with me right now) is getting one. I look forward to giving it a try. Haven't had anything deep fried in YEARS (due to my weight and cholesterol problems)!

  2. Thanks so much, Marg! I am enjoying reading everyone's reviews although it is adding to my already too big TBR. Annoyingly, some of the most interesting titles are only published in Australia (you must experience this in reverse).

  4. I just saw CLM's comment and I so want some of the Australian books as well! Sometimes I can get them thorough Netgalley though.

    1. There's lots of big books that I wish I could get through Netgalley but I just can't!

    2. I’d like some of the Australian authors & I wonder if I can access authors you can’t - pity we can’t share a Kindle file/book.

  5. I somehow missed the fact that there would be a monthly post for linking reviews. (face palm) Today I was checking up on the challenge to see what I needed to do when I finish & found out this fact. So I have added all my books to date & will finish up the year correctly. I'm using this challenge for my non-mystery historical fiction as I read alot of mystery HF & need to move some of my other books off my shelf.

  6. I'm not sure if my addition of Northern Spy qualifies for the historical fiction but it felt like at least a few decades ago!
