Sunday Salon: Historical Fiction Reading Challenge - September Stats

This year as part of the Historical Fiction Reading Challenge I am intending to provide some stats after each month and then at the end of the year I will do an overall wrap up for the year. Today I am sharing a few stats about September.

During September there were 66 reviews shared by 23 participants. There were lots of people who shared multiple reviews, including 5 people who shared 5 or more reviews. Thank you to everyone who has shared! I think I have visited everyone this month, and there were some fascinating titles, and I added more than one book to my TBR list!

In terms of the books, there were 66 individual titles reviewed, written by 60 different authors.

For a brief moment,  I thought that we weren't going to have any books that were reviewed multiple for the challenge this month, but in the end there was one. It was the first book linked up for the month and then the second to last one! That book was Godmersham Park by Gill Hornby.

This book was reviewed by both Shelleyrae at Book'd Out and Margaret at BooksPlease. Margaret also reviewed Miss Austen by the same author.

Other authors who had multiple books reviewed were Agatha Christie and Verity Bright.

Barbara at Stray Thoughts also received three books by Roseanna M White, all part of the Ladies of the Manor trilogy

It's not too late to join the challenge this year. You can find all the sign up details here and if you have a link to add to the challenge the October Linky can be found here. It is, however, getting close to time for me to start thinking about next years challenge!

  1. How funny that the only book reviewed more than once was so far apart in the list.

  2. I haven't read historical fiction in a while, being taken up by contemporary novels at the moment. One day....

  3. You do such a wonderful job with this challenge. It's a great way for those who love historical fiction to see what other historical fiction titles are out there. And it's a great way to share reviews with others.

    1. It's always interesting to see how each month plays out. I am looking forward to the end of the year to see where we end up too!

  5. It's probably too complicated to measure (especially because there are probably people like me who don't have time to review everything they read) but I am sure a high percentage of the historical fiction I read is based on books I see others reviewing. I may not get to it right away but I add some and mentally move others higher on my TBR.

    1. I have a couple of spreadsheets where I could add that in. Haven't done it yet though. Maybe next year.

  6. I love your roundups of books! It's interesting to me to see if we are reading the same books and the differences of opinion.
