This week....

 I'm reading

This week I have a reading problem. I have started two books and I am enjoying them both, so now I don't know which one to pick up next. I mean, I do have a deadline for one of them but I am really, really enjoying the other. The two books are A Taste of Italian Sunshine by Leonie Mack and the other is Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. Yes, finally.

Decisions, decisions..

I'm watching

We went to the movies on the weekend and watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. It was cold and wet, and going to the movies seemed like a good way to spend Sunday.

We also watched the last race of season 3 of SailGP which was hosted in San Francisco. We really loved our time in Christchurch for the last race. Next season I think we will try to go to the Sydney race.

We also caught up on all the current episodes of Rogue Soldiers.

Life

I had a pretty busy day on Saturday. A few of the members of my bookclub decided to go to Melbourne Writer's Festival. The session we attended was with Pip Williams, author of Lost Dictionary of Words and her new books The Book Binders of Jericho. Book Binders was our book club choice this month. Normally we do read on a theme instead of a specific book, but this time we decided to all read the same book. We also fitted in a visit to the dome at the State Library which is one of my favourite things to do!

Before the session, three of us went to lunch at a restaurant where they use robots to move dishes around. Here we have one of the host robots who you follow to your table, and they also deliver your food. Humans then put the dishes on the table. And then there is a busboy robot that takes all the dirty dishes away. Oh, and the food was delicious too!

The final event was to see London Symphony Orchestra who are currently visiting Australia. My husband loves going to see a symphony orchestra so he was in his happy place!

Max

Max is feeling a bit sad and sorry for himself today. Poor Max!

  2. I usually tackle the book with the first deadline to turn in to the library but I will say, Loved Lesson in Chemistry! Not sure which one you have to return first.
Looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy!

  4. My mom is reading Lessons in Chemistry for her book club and said I could borrow her copy when she's finished it. I am glad you are enjoying it!

I am looking forward to seeing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. I don't know if we will get a chance while it's in theaters, but perhaps.

It sounds like you had a lovely weekend, Marg with the writers' festival and then symphony!

I hope Max will be able out of that cone soon! Have a great week!

  5. I loved Lessons in Chemistry although I did choose the audio way. Sounds like a great literary festival.

  6. That is a touch call! I think you just need to read both and push other things aside! Although that doesn't always work lol
