Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read

  • Open to a random page

  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

  • For the second week in a row my teaser comes from an Elizabeth Peters book. Whereas last week's was from one of the Amelia Peabody books, this week's teaser comes from page 177 of Night Train to Memphis which is the fifth book in the Vicky Bliss series.

He was referring to Jane Austen, but none of the others caught the allusion, or its implications. Nasty old Aunt Norris in Mansfield Park always had a spare room because she never invited anyone to stay with her.

    1. Now I do like the sound of that. I have been looking at Elizabeth peters' books in the library and wondering. Now I think I pick one up!

    5. Yes, the Austen reference is cute! And a tad more obscure than the references you normally see. Nice teaser! Here's mine.

    8. You just reminded me that I want to read more in the Vicky Bliss series. Actually, more in the Amelia Peabody series, too.

Trouble is - this happens at just about every blog I stop by.
