Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and me that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library. If you’d like to participate, just write up your post-feel free to steal the button-and link it using the Mr. Linky any time during the week. And of course check out what other participants are getting from their libraries!

Eva will have the Mr Linky this week.

I have Loot this week! Yay! In fact, I went to the library on Sunday and picked up my loot, then checked my account an hour later and there was already something else there ready to pick up. It will have to wait though until I get back.

Here's my loot for this week:

Fearless by Taylor Swift - I have only recently started to borrow CDs from the library, but it is a great way to get a taste for an album if you are not sure if you want to go out and buy it straight away. I buy CDs so rarely that I like to be sure that I am going to like it if I can be!

The Girl from Junchow by Kate Furnivall
- I have enjoyed all the books that I read by this author, and I am especially looking forward to this one as it is the sequel to The Russian Concubine which I read a couple of years ago now (but never reviewed).

Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts - I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and I am looking forward to getting into this one!

Away with the Fairies by Kerry Greenwood -I have no idea what I was thinking when I requested this book, because I actually already had it out. I therefore currently have two copies of the same book borrowed - one is large print, and the other not, but I figure I will still only read it once, so this one will most likely go back soon.

  2. They all look great. I usually check out CDs from the library to see if I like them enough to buy them!!

  3. Wish my local library had great picks..every time I go, none of the books I,m looking for are ever available. (But then again, I live in a French Canadfian province, so the choices are vaster for French books..)
    You picked nice ones!

  4. The Girl From Junchow looks really interesting! I also like to get CDs from the library, but often anything new and popular has a hold list a couple hundred people long.

  5. Jumping in with participating in Library Loot, Marg! I posted my first one today. :-)

I've never heard of Kerry Greenwood, but I love the cover, and will have to check this mystery out!

  6. Away With the Fairies looks like something I would love, so I will be eagerly awaiting your review. I hadn't ever thought of checking out CD's from the library, but now that you mention it, the idea intrigues. I have such a habit of buying music before I really know if I like it, and I often end up disappointed. Great tip, thanks!

  9. Sandra, there are some good titles in the Greenwood series for sure.

    Julia, oh the pressure!

Zibilee, Away with the Fairies is part of the Phryne Fisher series, and from memory is book 8 or 9. The first one is Cocaine Blues I think. You are welcome for the tip!

Renee, I really love the covers of these rereleases of the Greenwood books. They fit the series really well. Welcome to Library Loot.

Legxleg and Stephanie, I have enjoyed all the Kate Furnivall books I have read so far so I have high hopes for this one.

Ms Lucy, I always request them. I very rarely browse the shelves. I am sure I wouldn't find much if I did that.

Staci, I am glad that I am not the only one that does that.
