Teaser Tuesday: Lady of the English by Elizabeth Chadwick

Ah, a new Chadwick read. Very satisfying and enjoyable! This book was one of my most anticipated releases of this year, and to date I am pleased to say that it is meeting my expectations.

My teaser comes from page 78:

They rode in silence again, and Brian kept his distance because he knew that if he let her in, he would fall apart under the truth of her stare and he could not allow that to happen. She was right. Honour was both a gilded fancy and a stinking corpse, and she had not been the one to murder it in the name of strategy.
Tuesday is hosted by Miz B at Should Be Reading. Head on over to find out  all about it, and how to join in!

  1. Ooooh, didn't realize it. It's written by E. Chadwick, one of the great authors of historical fiction. Enjoy.
