Temporarily distracted...

A couple of weeks ago, the phenomena that is The Voice hit Australian TV screens and I have been completely glued to the TV ever since. A fantastic bonus is that the little chef is interested in the show too so we have been watching it together! Yay for family bonding through The Voice!

If just the concept of the show isn't enough, here is our list of judges:

Delta Goodrem
Seal
Joel Madden
KEITH URBAN!

Yes, my favourite is getting big time recognition in mainstream Australia. Suddenly there are a ton of people saying what a great bloke he is, and I feel like saying "Hell yes" and "I have known about him for years!"

The other thing about the judges, especially in the judging of the blind auditions, is that Seal is completely mesmerising. The man has total charisma! Total. And Joel is totally awesome in a very sweet kind of way. Definitely not what I was expecting.

I was trying to find the video of the judges performing One by U2 together which was a seriously magic moment, but I can't find it to embed. Here is a direct link to it. I guess it is supposed to be about the contestants after all! Instead I am sharing one of the battle rounds from last night's show.

  1. I am so glad that you get the chance to see one of your favorite celebrities in a show like this that totally ensnares you! I might have to see if I can get this on Hulu!

    1. I am a little surprised at how much I anticipated it and am enjoying it. I haven't watched any of the other talent type shows for years.

  3. I am totally besotted by the UK version, the concept is so fresh, the judges are all artists, and all the contestants can actually sing, which is a first. I've liked what I've seen of the American one and would love to watch the Australian one too but at the moment it's not available online here. Regarding your point about Seal, I've found the show in general to be really flattering to the judges, and not in a false way. They all seem so genuine.

    1. Yes, you are right. All the judges are being portrayed in a very flattering way. Obviously the producers have been careful of who they are chosen because there are plenty of celebrities who might not have been quite so gracious!

  4. I'm totally in love with The Voice and Callum and I spend an awesome couple of hours together, bonding and debating who's going to come out on top of the battles ... Keith's my favourite judge but I've always been a fan

    1. Don't you feel like asking all these people who are just discovering how awesome Keith is where they have been all these years Sheree?

  5. Yeah, I'm hooked on this show so much more than I thought I'd be. Em Rusciano etc are tweeting some hilarious stuff during the shows too. I am not too happy with some of the recent knock-outs though... but I'm still tuning in.

    1. Jo, I have been kind of trying to avoid Twitter during the actual show so that I am actually watching it with my son and not half watching, half tweeting!

  6. I've become hooked on The Voice too! I try not to watch too much reality tv but we wanted to support a musician who played at our friend's wedding last month- Cameron Tapp. He has such a beautiful voice and i was sorry to see him leave the show last night :-(
Keith Urban does seem like a genuine guy... i must say though Delta REALLY annoys me on this show- especially during the auditions. I used to really like her but I just couldn't believe how much everything was "all about her" during the auditions... but anyway that's my little ramble...

    1. Ha! You might have noticed that I didn't say a lot about Delta in my post. She is definitely my least favourite of the judges!

Cameron did have a great voice! It's been so hard watching people who you know are very talented having to go home.

  7. I must admit even I have been watching bits of this. Much better than that rubbish with Kyle Sandilands
